Why my art will only be found here.

Last night I had to make a big decision about where and how I want my artwork to be seen on the web. I loved being able to post my work on Face Book and Pinterest. I love letting my friends see what I am up to and use my art for personal reasons. However, there are times I hate it. I never google myself. It makes me too mad to see my work stolen and abused. Copyrights removed, people cropping it, using it for profit etc.. Normally when I see this happen. I just email the offender ask that my work is removed. Most of the time, I have no problems. There was one case though that the woman literally argued with me and refused to take my art off. She blocked me and to my knowledge it is still being posted. THAT PISSES ME OFF!

When I joined FB and Pinterest I really did not read all the terms of service. That is not good. I did not realize that they could potentially use my artwork for ads, and profit off of my work. That I can not allow to happen. You can read the potential dangers of pinterest here. Also for you bloggers and anyone in general poor Roni Loren just went through an ordeal over copyright infringement you can read about it here. Personally, I believe the photographer went a little far. But… let her warning sink in and realize that we as artist have the right to decide where and how our art is used.

So from now on I will only be posting my art on my web site. I will link to my work on FB and Twitter, but will not be uploading to any social media site again. I just want to know where my art is and make sure that others will not profit off of my work. I will still post my cover art to those sites because I want to promote the wonderful books I have the honor of working on.

Hope all my followers on the social sites can understand my decision.
